“I am a graduate in Multimedia Computing with over ten years of commercial experience in and . Passionate about designing and developing , multi-device, cross browser, standards compliant websites using semantic , whilst adhering to strict W3C standards, SEO and accessibility practices. Experienced with IT/Marketing departments, Creative Design/Web agencies and working within an Agile development environment to deliver large-scale projects under strict deadlines.

  • Beyond - Front End Developer (Contract): Apr 13 – Present

    • Contracted by this rapidly expanding London based Digital Agency to work on several key projects:
      • www.virgin.com – Launching SoonResponsible for the Front End rebuild of the new Virgin website. Defined and developed a custom responsive framework/grid that fluidly resizes to match all devices. Paired structured SASS with TWIG templates for modular, scalable and maintainable development of this content driven HTML5 website. Created custom CKEditor/JS plugins to allow for additional/enhanced functionality within the CMS.
      • Moda – YouTube ChannelUsing the desktop version as a base, was responsible for developing the mobile website of this responsive Youtube Channel.
      • Viacom Global – Involved in the development of Viacom Global’s intranet site.
  • Camelot (The National Lottery) - Front End Developer: Apr 08 – Apr 13

    • Contracted as a Front End Developer for two years, later becoming permanent. Work includes:
      • www.national-lottery.co.ukDelivered the Front End for this large-scale website using a bespoke PHP framework to provide valid, accessible, cross browser HTML, CSS and JS/jQuery. Liaised with JSP and Test teams to ensure all code was compliant and matching requirements.
      • www.playingourpart.comDeveloped both the Front and Back End of this highly configurable, responsive, CMS driven website. Customised WordPress to meet the clients content requirements and performance expectations.
    • Streamlined HTML production/delivery of external Email campaigns with the creation of a custom built PHP framework whilst adhering to the standards and limitations of the various Email Clients/Browsers.
    • Rebuilt the AS3 Flash Framework to decrease production time for Design/Production Teams.
    • Coded AS2/AS3 for internal assets and external Flash Campaigns including their online Video Player and various Particle effects.
    • Awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze Stars for outstanding achievements including going above and beyond to ensure projects met their deadlines.
  • Quirksmode Limited - Director: Aug 05 – Present

    • Developed projects for various clients, including:
  • P&O Ferries – Lead Creative and Front End Developer: Jan 06 – Mar 08

    • Lead Creative and Front End Developer across all web channels for this blue chip company. Work includes:
      • www.poferries.comResponsible for a customer centred redesign of an accessible online travel booking service. Ensured XHTML/CSS was W3C compliant, adhering to strict accessibility and web guidelines. The site has gone on to achieve a 70 % increase in sales conversion.
      • www.poferriesfreight.comApplied a similar redesign to an online B2B freight booking application with a strong emphasis on maintaining consistent brand identity. Operated as part of a cross-discipline team working to tight deadlines, delivering a project that resulted in a 40% increase in sales.
    • Assisted P&O Marketing with the planning and development of its Online Campaigns, Microsites and White-labelled services.
    • Created and maintained a wide range of documentation including the creative brief and web guidelines, used by P&O as a constant reference to ensure all work reached consistent standards.
  • Syzygy - Web Designer and Production Developer: Jan 07

    • Worked for this well-established London agency as part of P&O’s agency/client programme.
    • Involved in a variety of digital media projects for a number of their top clients, including Mazda.
  • Millennium Desktop Services (Cape Town) - Web Master/Engineer: Sep 02 – Sep 03 & Feb 05 – Jun 05

    • Worked as web master designing and developing websites for key clients.

Interests

I love to play and watch sport including football, cricket, rugby and squash. Aside from building websites my other great passion is music production/performance. I have DJ’d at some of the top international festivals and venues including Cream, Gatecrasher, Godskitchen and currently play in bars/clubs around London.
